A Death In October

A story I've written. It's not a happy story, but it will have its lighter moments. If you're looking for a happily ever after, I suggest going somewhere else.

Chapter Two

September 12th, 2011
David waited for her to arrive in his Spanish class. He nervously glanced to the clock, “Will she be here today?” he thought bitting his nails nervously. And then she appeared in the door way. She was a small girl, hardly 5’2”. She wasn’t incredibly thin, but she still seemed fragile. She kept her head down shyly and her nervous eyes darted around the room. David flashed a quick smile and gestured to the seat next to him. She walked over not making eye contact with anyone.
“Goodmorning.” He said softly. She looked up to him and gave a quick smile, her full lips unparted. Her shyness was adorable to him.

She met him outside the school on the steps. He approached her, along with two other guys.
“Ready to go out to lunch?” David asked her. She nodded.
“What time does class start again?” she asked
“12:00 exactly,” One of the guys replied “I’m Clarky.” he said stretching out his hand. She shook it gently.
“I’m Ashton.” The other replied and did the same. David couldn’t help but glance at her arm as she tugged her sleeve down.
“Why are you wearing long sleeves? It’s like 80 degrees out!” David joked. She paused for a moment.
“Oh I don’t know… I’m just always cold.”
